The process of selecting our very own George Dickel Barrel for Barlines started with an early morning trip to the George Dickel Distillery, located in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The Omni Nashville Hotel and Barlines management teams arrived at Cascade Hollow, were greeted by “Dickel Doug” and taken on a full tour of the distillery. Doug showed the team the entire process of whiskey creation — from grain to bottled product — and the team was surprised to learn that the entire process is done by hand! Only 40 people oversee the daily operations at the distillery, so it’s truly an ‘all hands on deck’ mentality.
After a morning of touring the property and understanding more about the creation process, the team, led by a handful of trainers, began the tasting process. After sipping and trying several barrel options, the group narrowed it down to three very distinct barrels. After much deliberation and rounds of voting, the team finally chose the winning barrel for Barlines. Before leaving, the George Dickel team assisted in finalizing the custom label for the bottles and setting a delivery date for the new Barlines Barrel Select to our downtown honky-tonk. A rewarding process, indeed.
Thanks to the George Dickel team for your generosity and hospitality – we love our new, hand-selected whiskey addition!
